Weir Middle School has Special Visitor

On October 18, 2011 Dr. Marple , WV State Superintendent of Schools, visited Weir Middle School. She met with parts of the staff and students throughout the day.  She was very happy to see the success of our Accelerated Reader Program and that all students were reading for 20 minutes every morning.

She visited a lot of our related arts classes and commented on the fact we offered BASE (Home Ec.)

Our staff applied for and were rewarded  the Infusing Technology Grant , which gives us a 30 Pad lab.  The eighth graders were working in Math and WV History to plan a road trip around West Virginia.

The Phys. Ed. Dept. was busy with Dance Revolution, badminton, and volleyball.  Our 6th grade student, Jake Curtis, sang the National Anthem for Dr. Marple and he is performing in the “Christmas Carol” in Pittsburgh.
